Making Pittsburgh even cooler by educating community members on ways to save energy and money at home, thereby reducing their carbon footprint and creating a healthy, resilient Pittsburgh.

To be a trusted, go-to resource on sustainable living and empower citizens to take direct action in order to mitigate the effects of climate change.


Organization


The Black and Gold City Goes Green began in 2009 as the residential focus of the Pittsburgh Climate Initiative (PCI). Working collaboratively with stakeholders from across the city, the PCI aims to reduce greenhouse gases through measurable actions. Other focus areas in addition to residential include governments, businesses, and higher education.

 PennFuture adopted the Black and Gold City Goes Green at its inception as a local on-the-ground campaign based out of their Pittsburgh office.
